BESS Release 2 (beta) goes live

CASBE is excited to announce the launch of BESS Release 2 (beta) – the biggest upgrade to the BESS tool since we launched in 2015.

Our new interface is a whole new look & feel for BESS and marks an important milestone. The technology framework has been modernised, making BESS well placed for upgrades into the future, as well as being fully back-compatible for existing projects. This is a testament to our BESS software dev team as well as council officers and industry stakeholders who have helped design and test this release.

CASBE govern and maintain BESS on behalf of our subscriber councils – a full list of which can be found here.

BESS continues to be provided at no cost to the development community within our subscribing municipalities – this is only possible due to the ongoing commitment and investment of these councils – both financially and also the time invested in collaboration and participation by council officers.

As well as a completely new look and feel, BESS users will notice:

  • Our new Integrated Water Management category, replacing the previous Water and Stormwater categories
  • A more responsive design for tablet & mobile devices
  • Dark and light mode options
  • Improved filtering and data entry options, particularly for complex projects
  • Improved options for managing projects
  • A new library of Innovations to choose from (as well as the ability to add your own)

BESS Release 2 is currently in beta. Users can generate and publish BESS reports for council as usual. BESS-8 projects can continue to be created in our BESS classic interface during the beta period.
